Aston “Family Man” Barrett, the bassist and bandleader of Bob Marley and the Wailers, has died at the age of 77. He passed away on February 3, 2024, at the University of Miami Hospital in Florida, after a long illness. He was one of the most influential and respected musicians in the history of reggae music, and a mentor to many Jamaican artists.
